(More customer reviews)This device comes in handy if you have a long drive and want to load hours worth of MP3s or WMAs to listen to on the road. You'll get better quality from an iPod with a BlueTooth interface into your car's stereo system, but for those of us with older cars and tighter budgets, this device comes in handy.
My biggest complaint is the sound quality. The signal is broadcast by FM, which of course offers poor quality sound compared to a digital transmission from CD or iPod straight to your stereo. Furthermore, you can pick up interference from radio stations on neighboring frequencies, and the player itself I think suffers from a lack of audio fidelity. The end result is comparable to an AM radio broadcast (or an FM broadcast where you're not getting a perfect signal).
It's not so noticeable over the noise of car traveling at high speeds on the freeway, but if you're picky about audio fidelity or want to use this mostly for surface driving in a quiet car, you might be disappointed with the sound. Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to have to shuffle CDs on a long drive and can't afford a nicer setup. For the money, I feel this is a good buy.
