(More customer reviews)I ordered this unit to go with my HTZ-320 Samsung Home theatre system. It is the item they say in Samsung brochure that goes with this home system. It is supposed to be a wireless unit so you don't have to run wires across the room.
The first one I received from Samsung Parts (J&J International, who sells parts for samsung) went up in smoke when I connected it. So I sent it back and they sent a replacement unit. The second one simply didn't work. I called Samsung Parts who I purchased the part from and they said I needed to call Samsung support, that I was probably doing something wrong. I called Samsung tech support and spoke with a tier two technician and he determined after troubleshooting that this unit was also defective.
So apparently, something is not up to par with the SWA-4100, so I would avoid buying it.
Also, when I spoke to Samsung tech support, they told me that I didn't need to use the SWA-4100 (which is $149.95) for this home theatre system (even though that is what it says in the brochure), but that I could also use the SWA-4000 or SWA-3000, which cost much less. The SWA-4000 is only $99. I have since purchased the SWA-4000 from Amazon and it is working fine.
