Jabra A125s Bluetooth iPod Adapter Review

Jabra A125s Bluetooth iPod Adapter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Ok, just got it charged up and it seems to work well with my new 160GB iPod Classic and my slightly older Motorola s9's.
What I don't understand is why there seem to be various different versions of this Jabra BT adapter here on Amazon. There's this one (I purchased it and got one that turned out to be the A125s.), one called "Jabra Bluetooth Music Adaptor for Ipod," another called "Bluetooth iPod Adapter," and another called "A125 JABRA BLUETOOTH IPOD ADAPTOR." Kind of confusing!
Anyway, it's still a bit early to tell, but other then some immediate issues getting it paired, it seems to stay paired whether it gets unplugged or not. This is because the Jabra has a battery built into it. I used to have an iCombi iPod Bluetooth Adapter before this and it sucked it's juice directly out of the iPod's battery and so every time I unplugged it, and plugged it back in, it had to be paired again. There are obviously pluses and minuses to each approach.
The Jabra is more bulky then the iCombi. This is bad for obvious reasons, but it's also good in that it makes it more visible. The iCombi was so compact that it was easily lost in plain view! That's actually why I bought this - I lost my iCombi. It could actually be somewhere in my car or my house, but it's so small that it can hid really well! The picture here of the Jabra makes it look like it's wafer-thin, but in fact it is as thick as my 160GB Classic (or the older 60GB/80GB iPod Video).
The Jabra requires that you charge it in addition to your iPod and your BT headset. That's a lot of charging! So it's annoying and you have to deal with more chargers and batteries running out, etc. On the other hand, it's not depleting you iPod's battery, so especially when you're using it to watch videos, which take a lot of battery power, you know you're going to get your full X hours of video rather than something less.
The iCombi had some kind of fastener that made it so it would stay attached to the iPod and not come out unless you pressed these two buttons on its sides at the same time. The Jabra can be removed easily, and my skin case, even though it's just 1mm thick, makes it so the Jabra doesn't stick in very well. The slightest touch will make it come out. I'm going to have make a cut in that skin case to accommondate it!
The Jabra has a button on the side for added functionality which is good, except that I keep finding myself touching it inadvertantly and am wondering if that's going to cause problems down the road...
If I come up with any other feedback, I'll update this.

RF-MAB2 Bluetooth Stereo Headset - Review

RF-MAB2 Bluetooth Stereo Headset -
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I had to write a review between the Motorola S9 HD Bluetooth Headphones and Best Buy's Rocketfish Bluetooth Stereo Headphones because when I was trying to find reviews, I could not find any that compared the 2 products. I desperately wanted to buy a pair of bluetooth stereo headphones with a gift certificate I won at work. The motorola S9 HD sounds great, but the design is so flawed that I just had to return it. It sounds great (but not as good as Best Buy's signature Rocketfish Bluetooth Stereo Headphones, but I'll get into that later#, but the weight is so disproportionately heavy at the back, that it sags very badly towards the back and it sags so badly that it pulls the part of the headphones that go over the ear down so hard that it actually hurts after about 10 minutes. I really wanted these headphones to work, I really did, but it was such an unbearably flawed design that I had to return them.
Now... after returning this product, I bought Best Buy's Rocketfish Bluetooth Stereo Headphones because of all the positive ratings I read about it on this website and on Best Buy's website. These headphones are absolutely incredible! Let me just say that the fit is just right... they sag a little bit after about 30 minutes of use, but because the weight is distributed more evenly, they're not as uncomfortable. They actually sag less than the wired counterparts of this design made by Sony. This is the best product of this kind out there right now. NOW... about the sound... I thought they sounded JUST AS GOOD as the Motorola S9 HD headphones when I first used them! BUT, then I realized that they had an equilizer setting that the Motorola headphones do not. When I set the equilizer on my preferred setting, the sound quality blew the Motorolas away. Now, the only caveat is that these are over-the-ear headphones that may make one feel kinda dorky if you care about how you look at the gym# and because they are over-the-ear, those around you may be able to hear what you're listening to #again, if you care about that kinda stuff). In any case, they are lightweight enough to run with and the reception is so CLEAR AND GREAT! I can literally walk 30 feet away and these headphones are still crystal clear. Most bluetooth stereo headphones "claim" 30 feet of distance, but actually start to break up after about 10 feet. These headphones truly have range. Also, if you're the kind of person that wants to use these in the gym while lifting weights, they are perfect for that! You can simply leave your headphones on the floor nearby or in a cubby hole if the gym provides one, and continue to get crystal clear signal through your entire workout with NO WIRES!!! Again, they are comfortable and lightweight, and whether you are lifting weights or running, they're the best!

FREETALK Wireless Stereo Headset Review

FREETALK Wireless Stereo Headset
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was really excited about this headset when I first received it. They sound great and come in a nice portable storage case.
After about 6 weeks of use, one of the pins holding a joint on the headband broke, so they were no longer wearable. I was able to put the pin back in so that if I didn't move too much it would hold together. Two days later, one of the joints broke. The plastic just fell apart and made the headset unwearable. Fortunately I was sent a replacement pair for free. Six weeks later, the second pair broke in the same place and I again had a dangling ear cup. Since I still had the old set, I was able to take the one working joint off of each and make a single working pair. That lasted about 2 weeks before another one of the joints broke.
Summary: Many moving parts all made out of cheap plastic. One particular component broke and was replaced 3 times in a period of 4 months.

Sony DRBT101/BLK Over-the-Head Style Stereo Bluetooth Headset

I am by no means an audiophile, but I was very impressed with these headphone from Sony. As others have said the Bass is by no means deep, but it is acceptable for headphones. Music listening was a joy with these as I was able to move around my house and still be connected (Isn't Bluetooth great). My main reason for getting them was to listen to movies and TV on my desktop and laptop, the pairing was a cinch with both of my computers. The sound quality was very good for both movies and TV, there was also no lag that I noticed between the headphone sound and the actors lips (sometimes happens with wireless things). The fit of these headphones was perfect for my head, they fit snugly but not too tight, they stayed put with movement (Standing, walking, head bobbing to music). Overall I am very happy with these Sony Bluetooth Headphones, I would recommend these to anyone looking for a nice low cost wireless alternative for use with a PC.

Samson Airline 77 UHF Wireless Vocal/Aerobics Headset System Review

Samson Airline 77 UHF Wireless Vocal/Aerobics Headset System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I tried the Samson Airline 77 in Jan of 2010 ... the description looked interesting, and I had a need for a wireless
headset mic without a body pack. After testing it out, I immediately returned it.
It had two problems, one major and one minor.
The major problem was that if the headset was powered off, the receiver would emit a lot of static as output,
which causes havoc with a sound system.
The minor problem is that it's difficult for some performers to remember which switch on the headset is
power and which is mute ... by touch alone. (And, if they hit the wrong switch, we're suddenly blaring
static to the audience). We worked around this by putting some gaffer tape over the power switch.
The two performers who tested the headset both found it difficult to wear as the instructions desired...
with the transmitter against the center back of the head ... they felt a more natural place for it would
be against the bottom back of the head.

TV Ears 10321 2.3 Replacement Headset Review

TV Ears 10321 2.3 Replacement Headset

(More customer reviews)
Although the product has earned a good rating with regards to comfort, sound quality and noise, I will never buy another product offered by the company, TV EARS, again.
After just 4 months of usage (just long enough for the 90 day warranty to expire), I began to notice that the headset batteries would fail after about 6 hours. The problem continued to get worse as time went by. By the 6th month of use, the batteries failed within 4 hours or less of use. (The same problem was experienced by both sets of 2.3 MHz headsets I purchased from TV EARS)
I called TV EARS for help. They acknowledged that the 2.3 MHz models were not as good as the ORIGINAL models,(of which I have owned 2), but, since the 90 day warranty expired, all that they would be willing to do is to honor their FREE Lifetime Service Guarantee and exchange my used 2.3 MHz headsets for new 2.3 MHz headsets for about $70.00 + shipping and handling and taxes for each headset. I declined their gracious offer.
Even though they acknowledge that the 2.3 MHz product might be defective, all TV EARS offers as an "equitable solution" to the problems exiting within their defective product, is to exchange "used junk" for "new junk" at almost the same price as buying their junk online. Their response to my problem makes me question if TV EARS is a company that I, or anyone else, should feel comfortable dealing with.
Buyer Beware.

Samson AirLine 77 UHF TD Headset Wireless QE Microphone System, Channel N3 Review

Samson AirLine 77 UHF TD Headset Wireless QE Microphone System, Channel N3
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We bought this mic system for our new fitness studio. The setup was pretty straight-forward and I got it working right away. The headset is comfortable.
If you turn the receiver on and the microphone is not turned on, horrible static comes out of the amplifier. I don't know if this is normal but it's a huge headache for our instructors to remember the proper order to turn the mic and receiver on and then have to turn them off in the reverse order.
You have to put the mic right up to your lips to get decent sound. Kind of annoying when it's a shared mic. The amp is not small, either. There is also frequent static that comes through the sound. I don't know why or where it's coming from but it breaks up the energy of a yoga class.
Another issue is the reliability. Our receiver went dead after 6 months. Amazon told me to contact the manufacturer who directed me to the service company in Arizone. When you're counting on it everyday, it's not feasible to send it for repair indefinitely so I have to purchase another one for another $300! Ug.

Samson Airline 77 UHF Headset Wireless systems are an unbeatable combination. The AirLine headset transmitter features the Samson Qe Fitness microphone element. The Qe headset is designed to go around the back of your head rather than over the top. This allows the transmitter to be attached directly to the headband, out of the way and completely unobtrusive, while being comfortable and secure during performances or exercise routines. No more wires crawling down your back from the headset, no more duct taping the mic to your favorite sax.The CR77 true-diversity half-rack UHF receiver works flawlessly with all AirLine UHF transmitters. The CR77 receiver features a front panel display with large multi-segment audio level and RF level LED meters, and a large rotary volume knob allows easy adjustment of audio output. The new synthesized PLL frequency control circuitry keeps the signal locked and true while dual tuned molded antennas with LEDs monitor the true-diversity operation. The rear panel features balanced XLR and un-balanced 1/4-inch outputs allowing flexible connection options.

This wireless system is a really good middle of the road system. It isn't a cheap wanna-be toy, and it isn't an over priced waste of money either. It is a solid pro-quality kit that does it's job really well. The price makes it a no-brainer. Sure, there are systems with better sound, longer range, and smaller headpieces. Motorola S9-HD Headset with D650 iPod Adapter (Gloss Black) Review

Motorola S9-HD Headset with D650 iPod Adapter (Gloss Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
With the release of Apple's iPhone OS 3.0 I have found myself on the market for a pair of nice A2DP Bluetooth stereo headphones. I currently switch between a Jabra BT125 for wireless talk and Shure i2c-M earbuds for wired stereo music while walking/running.
With my iPhone 3G updated and finally able to support stereo BT streams, I found myself stuck with the choice of either the Motorola ROKR S9-HD wrap arounds or the JayBird 200i, which appear to be the two most widely distributed BT stereo setups available in my local big box marts. I wound up choosing the Motorolas, which I purchased from Target.
I chose poorly.
I will say, I am generally skeptical of tech product user reviews, and knowing the Motorola ROKR series BT stereo headphones (both the S9s and now these S9-HDs) have recieved so many mixed reviews across a number of different sites, I was left unconvinced either way, so went ahead and purchased them for myself to see if these were really as good, or as bad, as previous reviewers have made them out to be.
Unfortunately, the *bad* camp wins. I wound up returning my S9-HDs to Target the day after I purchased them, even in spite of some quite favorable first impressions.
I have owned a number of Motorola products over the past decade (Timeport and RAZR V3 cellphones chief among them -- in fact, prior to the iPhone I'd owned only Motorola brand cell phones for the previous eight years) and have a favorable overall impression of Motorola's products, build quality, and reliability. Because of this I purchased the S9-HDs with an open mind and presumed the headphones couldn't really be as poorly constructed and unreliable as other reviewers have written.
When I brought the S9-HDs back to my office after purchasing them on a lunch break, I cut into the package and immediately got the headset on the charger, because I was so eager to put them through their paces. After charging completed (~2 hours), I paired the headset to my iPhone 3G without any problems. At no point did I need the included D650 adapter, though I do own a fourth gen iPod that would have been a candidate for it, I wound up not keeping the headset long enough to even bother.
So, what's good?
- Weight/comfort. The headset weighs under an ounce, so is very light and rides off the neck and just over the ears. Some people complain that these 'pinch', though I had no such issues. I found I was able to wear them for about two hours listening to music at my desk and not be bothered by the ergonomics, fit, or weight.
- Sound quality. I thought the sound quality was excellent in both modes ('regular' stereo and 'SRS Wow'). There was some noise/static at higher volumes, so I would put these behind my Shures in clarity, but otherwise I wouldn't make an argument against these based on sound quality alone. In fact, through the first two hours of my purchase, I was extremely happy with the S9-HDs, though I hadn't left my desk.
Then what's bad?
- BT signal strength. The deal breaker for me would come about four hours later when I went for my evening 5K run. My opinion of the S9-HDs really couldn't have been higher until I discovered they were completely unusuable for the primary purpose for which I bought them: Cutting the wire to the earbuds when I'm running. As soon as my gait switched from a walk to even a light jog (~5-6 mph) the headset began bouncing up and down uncomfortably and the sound would intermittently cut out from the BT stream for seconds at a time. My experience left me with the impression that these headphones were 100% unworkable for any outdoor physical activity whatsoever, which confirmed the complaints of a number of other owners who wound up giving these only one or two stars.
- Fixed battery. The battery is not replaceable and not user accessible. The rated life of the battery is approx 400 charges, which you can expect to last between 5-6 hours for stereo music. Unless you intend to use these sparingly, they are for all practical purposes $100 2 to 3-year disposable headphones.
- Behind the head wrap-around design only works if you're sitting up/standing. Due to the design that has the band "float" just off the back of the neck, this headset is also unusable while laying down or sitting back in a high-backed chair, such as a recliner or executive office chair.
- Remote buttons on the S9-HD don't control the iPhone 3G's music player, because OS 3.0 does not offer AVRCP. There are six control buttons on the headset along the earpieces including volume up/down and next/previous track. These buttons do not control the iPhone 3G even with OS 3.0. The volume up/down buttons affect the headset independant of the iPhone's volume controls, and I also found that there was not a selection available to turn the volume down so low as to have complete silence. The lowest available volume selection was still loud enough that I had to completely remove the headphones in a pinch to hear somebody talking to me. The next/previous track buttons don't do anything. Track selection still requires handling the iPhone's touchscreen.
Last, I will point out that a number of complaints seem to center around the S9 and S9-HDs lack of waterproofing, which is a huge problem for active wear due to sweat entering the unit. As I did not own mine long enough to verify these claims because all the other faults were so deal breaking as to lead me to return these in less than 24 hours, my impression of the construction was the speaker units themselves did not appear to be sealed very well, nor did the rubberized portions of the volume/track controls on the outsides of the unit. Even the charger port cover showed little attention to fit and finish and was clearly not going to be suitable for moisture proofing. That said, I am inclined to agree with those suspicious of the long term durability of these for active use, presuming you're lucky enough to get any use out of them whatsoever in that capacity.
In the end, until something better comes along, I've taken the refund and will stick with my Shures. All things considered, I'm certain these would make an excellent wireless, stereo headset option for those who need such an item for casual indoor use, such as while cleaning, doing other chores, or sitting at a desk. However the short life-expectency, half-a-day charge lifetime, poor BT signal range, complete failure of the unit outdoors during active use, and overall poor finish makes these unworkable for any serious travel, all-day, or active-performance use.

5 in 1 Wireless Headset Review

These are inexpensive and a bargain at this price. I can hear with them out in my yard but not all the way to the road and pretty much all over the house. It's a small house.
I'm using rechargeable batteries on the headset and am still on the first charge so am happy with that. I have the transmitter plugged into a Radio Shack adjustable voltage power adapter of the 12 volt variety running off one of those power packs used for starting cars so no problem there wrt battery life.
It may have to scan a bit to find the station but that will depend on your location. I found it would pick up some regular fm stations but you can scan past them to find your signal.
The only thing that keeps me from giving it five stars is they could be more comfortable. The pads don't cover my whole ears so after awhile you
can feel the pressure on your ears.
I haven't tested the other features.
Recommend at this price point.

Bluetooth Stereo Gateway DC800 Bluetooth Adapter for Home Stereo Review

Bluetooth Stereo Gateway DC800 Bluetooth Adapter for Home Stereo
Average Reviews:

I use this most of the time to connect the Bluetooth audio output from my iMac to the stereo, so that I can listen to internet radio using real speakers. The computer and the stereo are in different rooms, not even adjacent rooms, and the DC800 has no difficulty connecting to the Mac. Sound quality is very good; I have not had the problems that some other reviewers mentioned about sound quality.
The DC800 will do more, though. I can listen to whatever the stereo is playing, such as broadcast TV or a DVD, via Bluetooth headphones (I use Motorola BT820s). I can listen to my iPod through the stereo using a tiny Bluetooth iPod adapter (from Sony) that attaches via the iPod's docking connector. Now, it's easy to connect an iPod to a stereo by just plugging a stereo cable into the iPod's earphone jack, but then you have to leave the iPod near the stereo or use a long cable. With a Bluetooth connection, you can sit across the room, holding the iPod, and use the iPod's controls to select music. You'll also need some sort of remote for the stereo's volume control, because the volume setting on the iPod has no effect on the volume of the Bluetooth connection, at least using the Sony adapter.
The DC800 was easy to set up and easy to pair with the Bluetooth devices I have. It has no controls other than a power switch (I leave it on all the time) and a button to press for pairing. It just works.
One thing it WON'T do is two Bluetooth sessions at once. I can't play the computer's sound through the stereo via Bluetooth and at the same time listen to the stereo's output via Bluetooth headphones. There's no real need to do this (just pair the headphones directly with the computer), but I tried it to see if it works -- it doesn't.
I definitely recommend this product.

FM HiFi WIRELESS HEADPHONES 5 in 1, Super Bass, Cordless EARPHONE Review

I love these headphones. In fact, I'm online today buying a replacement set for the one I've been using for over a year (battery leaked inside base and killed the contact!). You can easily switch between FM stations, and from radio to your computer/MP3/TV by using a button on the headset. Volume is controlled on the headset. Both the headset and base run on batteries, so you don't need to have yet another electrical outlet available to use these. I am totally amazed at how long the base will transmit on a pair of AAA batteries. In fact, I never had to replace the batteries in my unit, which is why I didn't realize one of the batteries was leaking. I must admit, that I don't use the headphones more than about an hour each day, but still, the battery life is great. I really love that I can walk into my kitchen -- 2 rooms away from the base -- and still have good reception, so I can listen to music from my computer while doing dishes, making dinner, etc. You can't beat this unit for the price. Note: I don't use it for TV; just use connected to my computer for playing music, or listening to FM radio.

Jabra Bluetooth Music Adaptor Review

Jabra Bluetooth Music Adaptor

It works great to remedy a shortcoming of my zumo 550 GPS, which doesn't broadcast Bluetooth in stereo. But mostly, I like to plug it into my iPod, which I leave in the map pocket of my tank bag. I don't like being tethered to my bike in any way -- and this is an effective way of avoiding that.
The stereo sound quality, range, and volume are surprisingly good. Battery life seems to be as-advertised. Pairing was easy. I also found that I can plug it into the USB charger for my Motorola Q (cell phone) to recharge it -- versus having to charge it from a PC.
I've paired this device with the Bluetooth Wonder Stereo Headset, which I also purchased via Amazon. This is another great little device that enables your earphones of choice with Bluetooth!
