(More customer reviews)Like the entire Sennheiser line of earbuds, the sound quality of the MM200 headset is second to none. Deep, clear base and crisp, clean highs. Also, the form fitting design of the grommets blocks out all ambient noise very effectively. I was able to listen to music and audio books clearly, on a very loud plane ride without even having the volume maxed out. Also, the device supports controlling your music player over the air. I am able to pause, play, skip and adjust volume on the music player on my Motorola Droid, as well as the Pandora client! Awesome!
The design is flawless. The neck strap is made of a strong, thick silicone-type material, which connects to very sturdy hard plastic couplings which join it with the rest of the headset. The couplings are firmly fitted and flush, and also rotate smoothly on their joint.
The cords coming from the couplings are two types. The two that join to the base transmitter unit are of cloth-covered "shoe-lace" type material, seeming very durable and strong. The cords going to the ear buds are your standard Sennheiser earbud cords, made of durable silocone-type material. I have found this to be a particular strong point with Sennheisers as I once had a pair of Sony earbuds like these where the rubbery material tore and unraveled off of the cords to the earbuds. Never on my Sennheisers!
The battery life is immeasurable. Meaning simply that I haven't been able to kill them yet! I gave them their first 3 hour charge when I received them and have been using them regularly for many long phone calls and music sessions over the past 7 days. Still going strong!
The Bluetooth range on these things actually scares me! I just tested and I was able to walk 60 feet across my warehouse, with walls separating me from my Droid, and the music was loud and clear. It didn't start to even stutter or cut out until I was past 70 feet. This may have something to do with the model of my phone, I don't know. I have not tested the MM200s on anything other than my Droid, but this performance is simply unbelievable.
Last night I spoke for 3 hours on my phone with someone while using the MM200 and they never knew I was on them. I was totally unconscious of the fact that I was speaking on them, and so was the other party. That can only mean that the voice quality is top notch! No complaints on that!
My one and only complaint is the use of a micro-usb style usb cord to charge the device. I would rather see these use a mini-usb type like most BlackBerry and Android devices and other phones, that way its just one less cord you need to worry about.
All told I have not seen a more perfect cell phone accessory, especially for the modern smart phone lines.

Jabra Bluetooth Music Adaptor for Ipod Review

(More customer reviews)This product doesn't work. I have a R.E.D. Tantrum Audio Helmet that supports A2DP. The concept is that you can wear a helmet while skiing or snowboarding and be able to listen to music and make and receive phone calls through the included Motorola bluetooth headphones. This system only works to its full potential if everything, including the music, streams through bluetooth. So, I searched for an iPod bluetooth adaptor and after some research stumbled on the Jabra A125s. Long story short, it's unusable. The sound cuts in and out (usually out) constantly such that it's not even worth pairing to the headphones. I know the culprit is the Jabra because tests other bluetooth solutions work perfectly.
After giving up in frustration, I attempted to contact Jabra and see if this is a common problem with this device, or if I had a faulty unit. I've sent three emails and one letter but have heard NOTHING back from Jabra.
Stear clear of this product.

(More customer reviews)I bought these as a Christmas present (for myself) directly from HP. At the time they were listed for $160.00 and I found I could get them from HP for $100.00. I liked the bluetooth, it setup just fine with my Vista laptop (also an HP) and the sound was fine. The noise canceling didn't really work, all I got was a high-pitched squeal in the right ear, but I'm in a quiet office, so I didn't worry about it.
I had the same problem that others have had, the headband breaks. I have a pretty normal to small head (I wear a 6 and 1/4 fitted baseball hat) and the headband busted in two.
I sent them back, and HP never bothered to send me a replacement. When I called, they had already refunded my money. They offered me a 25% discount on any other pair of headphones, but I was so put off by the whole experience, I told them "no thanks".
If HP can design a better head band, they'll have something to offer, but as for now, these headphones are not worth the time and money.
And, yes, working with HP's outsourced customer service is not fun. They don't understand the issues with the product and are not easy to work with. I hope someone from HP reads this and moves their call center to a nice college town where they can give students that speak English and have people skills a nice place to work. As it is, I won't buy anything from HP for awhile.

First of all, it is a great idea to have the bluetooth audio broadcaster be able to plug into ANY audio jack. Very universal and works with any audio device where you can plug headphones.
The bluetooth receiver is a decently small size and any headphones - in my case my iPod earbuds, plug nicely. I used it today running on the treadmill and the volume was excruciatingly low even when turned all the way up. I could not hear most of the audio while running in the gym.
This totally defeats the purpose. You cannot increase the audio to be able to hear dialogue/lyrics. To get an idea of how low the sound is... the maximum volume the bluetooth receiver is capable of receiving is just slightly above 1/2 the max volume on the iPhone 3G.
(Note: my iPhone was on MAX volume output and was only broadcasting at about the 1/2 max level.)

(More customer reviews)The vox340 is a Bluetooth stereo headset with mic that also includes a separate blue tooth transmitter adapter with a 3.5mm plug that plugs into any headphone jack.
It works great as Bluetooth stereo headphones and beats all the FM and 900MHz headphones I have tried over the years. The range is about 25ft when going through the walls where I live. Since stereo operation only requires pairing with the included adapter, makes it possible to listen wirelessly to anything with a stereo jack. I have it plugged into my laptop.
When paired with a cellphone, the vox340 solves the problem of being able to listen to stereo without wires and still be able to switch to talking on the phone without changing to another headset (or removing the stereo headphones/ear buds to put a phone to your ear).
The device has a loop that is worn around the neck and the 2 inch pendant has volume control, on/off, and 2 other buttons that have tape deck like forward/rewind markings. Each ear bud branches off the loop a short distance to reach the ears. It comes with a charger; the batteries are not removeable.
I have only been able to get it to work with the adapter as Bluetooth stereo headphones since pairing is tricky with my cellphone and laptop, but I have not given up making it work with a MacBook Pro.
The manuals included were minimal and only in French and Spanish, no English. I had to get translation help to know what the various blinking LED modes mean and how to do Bluetooth pairing.
After searching and translation help, I found out:
* Bluetooth 1.2 device.
* Alternating red-green LED in the adapter means it is in pairing mode.
* Pairing mode is triggered by pressing On and Off buttons simultaneously and holding until it starts to blink.
* When the battery is totally drained, it needs to be paired again.
* Device can act either like stereo headphones or a hands free headset.
An insert into the package lists many cell phones that are compatible. To keep this review succinct, I will try to post more "missing vox340 manual" details elsewhere so others can benefit.

Blueant S1 Sun Visor Bluetooth Handsfree Review

(More customer reviews)Let me start with the basics - this car kit is not bad. It isn't great, but I've seen worse. The S1 is about $20 cheaper than the Supertooth 3 (the flagship carkit from Blueant). Sadly, the S1 loses the cool features found on the Supertooth 3 - voice dialing is one of them (the S1 does support a simple "answer" command for picking up calls.
The S1 does all the basics, plus it adds Bluetooth audio. This works, but don't expect it to replace your car stereo any time soon. The A2DP Bluetooth stereo lacks one minor little thing - AVCRP or Bluetooth audio remote. So, even though you can listen to music, you can't control it.
Now on to the big one - when you open the box, you see the S1, its visor clip and an AC charger. That is correct - the brainiacs at Blueant obviously felt that nobody would need a car charger for the car kit in their car.
This means you'll need to spend an additional $10 on a MiniUSB car charger cord. To me, this is an inexcusable flaw, and one that makes it seem like the product was poorly thought through.

Sony DRBT21G/B Stereo Bluetooth Headset Review

(More customer reviews)The only headphones I've ever trusted are Sony classic Street Style - they're comfortable, affordable, and have great sound quality. When I realized Sony had released this wireless pair, I was all over them.
I had previously tried the Motorola HT820 Bluetooth headphones because I've long been interested in wireless audio, so most of my comparison will be to those.
Design
The Street Style form of these headphones is excellent - I prefer this style compared to over-the-head headphones, and I have a terrible time with earbuds.
The neck band is almost exactly the same as a pair of wired Street Style headphones, with a little less bulk and no rubber "ear rests" that would sit on top of your ear. The band doesn't seem to grip your ears as well as a pair of wired Street Styles, but they are nearly as comfortable.
The "foldable" design is something I could do without. I wouldn't care whether or not they folded, but the stock photo does not show how they redesigned the neck band to accommodate the fold. Instead of being a perfect curve, the neck band comes to a subtle pointed shape where it folds. Less attractive, but it makes no difference while you're wearing them.
Performance
These headphones offer excellent sound quality, but only expect to get this when using the A2DP (advanced audio) Bluetooth profile (this goes for any Bluetooth headphones). This is only available on certain cell phones, with an adapter, or with special software on a computer. In my situation, I set these up with my MacBook Pro's built-in Bluetooth, but I have to use a software workaround to broadcast A2DP in Mac OS Tiger (a Google search will help you find that).
The sound is surprisingly rich and satisfying. I don't think of myself as an audiophile, but if the sound is bad, I can't get into the music - and with these I've had very little trouble focusing on my music.
In order to get a good balance of music and vocals, I did have to adjust the equalization in iTunes (unlike wired headphones, which I normally just plug in and go). With too much low frequency sound (bass) I did find that some music had an occasional popping noise - lowering those levels eliminated that issue and the phones still produce a good amount of bass. The effective frequency range on these is limited but I'm not sure if this is a result of the wireless technology or the speakers. I can't imagine Sony would use lousy speakers in something with an MSRP ten times the amount of a fine pair of their wired headphones.
These headphones hold a very steady connection, within range. The Motos often cut out during simple movements like bending over to pick something up. I can safely exercise and move about a room without these dropping the connection.
The battery life is more than acceptable for my use. I've used them for about 2 hours a day for the past 3 days and haven't had to do a second charge yet.
Bluetooth/Wireless Faults
There are a few issues which I blame on the Bluetooth/wireless technology, as it's just not perfect yet.
There is a very subtle amount of static that can be heard when no music is playing, and sometimes in songs with less background music. This may also vary based on the device you're connecting to. I have tried eliminating interference and the static seems constant. It usually fades into the music while listening.
If you're connected to a stationary object like a computer, don't expect to leave the room with these on. Bluetooth has a very limited range. If you use them with a cell phone or just in a single room, you'll be fine.
I can't use my wireless Mighty Mouse while I'm listening to these. Both operating on Bluetooth, the mouse causes the audio to cut out every few seconds. Not sure about other Bluetooth devices, but expect interference. Wireless router doesn't seem to cause disconnection though.
Summary
My expectations of wireless headphones is very low. These are definitely a step in the right direction though. While the Motorola HT820 may have decent sound quality with A2DP (not tested), the Sony DRBT21G triumphs in comfort due to it's lighter and less bulky design.
If you are able to connect to a device with A2DP and don't mind the caveats of wireless technology, I would recommend these as the best I have found so far. I bought these for about $95 but they're worth the $129.99 retail price. The freedom is worth it!

Jabra A125s Bluetooth iPod Adapter Review

(More customer reviews)Ok, just got it charged up and it seems to work well with my new 160GB iPod Classic and my slightly older Motorola s9's.
What I don't understand is why there seem to be various different versions of this Jabra BT adapter here on Amazon. There's this one (I purchased it and got one that turned out to be the A125s.), one called "Jabra Bluetooth Music Adaptor for Ipod," another called "Bluetooth iPod Adapter," and another called "A125 JABRA BLUETOOTH IPOD ADAPTOR." Kind of confusing!
Anyway, it's still a bit early to tell, but other then some immediate issues getting it paired, it seems to stay paired whether it gets unplugged or not. This is because the Jabra has a battery built into it. I used to have an iCombi iPod Bluetooth Adapter before this and it sucked it's juice directly out of the iPod's battery and so every time I unplugged it, and plugged it back in, it had to be paired again. There are obviously pluses and minuses to each approach.
The Jabra is more bulky then the iCombi. This is bad for obvious reasons, but it's also good in that it makes it more visible. The iCombi was so compact that it was easily lost in plain view! That's actually why I bought this - I lost my iCombi. It could actually be somewhere in my car or my house, but it's so small that it can hid really well! The picture here of the Jabra makes it look like it's wafer-thin, but in fact it is as thick as my 160GB Classic (or the older 60GB/80GB iPod Video).
The Jabra requires that you charge it in addition to your iPod and your BT headset. That's a lot of charging! So it's annoying and you have to deal with more chargers and batteries running out, etc. On the other hand, it's not depleting you iPod's battery, so especially when you're using it to watch videos, which take a lot of battery power, you know you're going to get your full X hours of video rather than something less.
The iCombi had some kind of fastener that made it so it would stay attached to the iPod and not come out unless you pressed these two buttons on its sides at the same time. The Jabra can be removed easily, and my skin case, even though it's just 1mm thick, makes it so the Jabra doesn't stick in very well. The slightest touch will make it come out. I'm going to have make a cut in that skin case to accommondate it!
The Jabra has a button on the side for added functionality which is good, except that I keep finding myself touching it inadvertantly and am wondering if that's going to cause problems down the road...
If I come up with any other feedback, I'll update this.

Scosche IUBHK iPod/MP3 Bluetooth Home Kit Review

I own a Apple 60 GB Black iPod Video AAC/MP3 Player (5th Generation) and the Motorola Krzr K1m Sprint phone, which sadly does not feature stereo bluetooth and I was looking for a solution for this unnecessary issue (Motorola should've built in stereo bluetooth along with it's mp3 player). The Scosche Blulife Home Kit was the answer to my prayer. Not only could I use the transmitter with my phone to send stereo audio to my bluetooth headset, the reciever can be used for sound in the home or vehicle. A beautiful thing.
For my video Ipod, I can connect the standard 3.5" jack and send the signal to either the receiver, which connects via any RCA connection, or to my Sony Ericsson Bluetooth Headset HBH-DS970. One important thing to point out is to know what you want to do with your devices, then, read the manuals for all your devices thoroughly. I admit I did have trouble the first time around with the HBH-DS970 pairing to the transmitter and the phone simultaneously, but once I spent time with the manual, I followed the clear instructions and was able to achieve my goal of being able to switch back and forth between music and phone calls. It s all about the single/multiple switch button on the headset. The only gripe I have if any, is the size of the transmitter, which could get bulky if you intend to connect it to your portable devices on the go. Otherwise indoor use not a problem whatsoever.

(More customer reviews)I had reservations about this product when I purchased it on-line, but I had been searching for a wireless or semi wireless stereo headset that fits my modest but specific requirements, so I tried it out, and I really like it.
Unlike other Bluetooth stereo headset devices I have tried, this little unit has great range. Others I've tried had a difficult time streaming audio at the distance from my head to my hand with my arm extended at 90 degrees, which is of little use to me. With the DRBT100CX, I can place my mobile device in my pocket or even walk away from it an easy 30 meters with excellent streaming clarity.
The ear buds fit comfortably and I can manually adjust the amount of ambient noise I want to hear by adjusting how snugly I put them in my ears. This is important because there are times you need to be aware of the sounds around you, and there are times you just want to drown everything out. And because the ear buds are corded, the Bluetooth transmitter doesn't have to be pressed against the back of my skull or hanging behind my ear; I can clip it to my shirt sleeve or waist band. While the precise health risks of Bluetooth transmissions are somewhat unknown, I'd just as soon limit the proximity to my head.
It's extremely light weight with a compact form factor, and the simplicity of the miniature joystick control is brilliant, even for my huge hands and fingers. So far, it appears to be quite efficient with power usage, and I love that it recharges via USB, with the USB charge cable included.
There is one item that I would consider to be a significant design flaw that Sony should fix if they design another (even smaller) version, and I hope that they do. The built-in, plastic spring loaded clip used to clip it onto your cloths, etc., is far too flimsy for even casual use. On my unit, the clip broke off at the hinge and it's just too tiny and delicate to attempt any type of lasting repair. I happened to have a small Velcro strap with a metal clip on it, the kind you might see threaded through the hole of an identification badge clipped to one's jacket lapel, which works perfectly for me, actually better than the original.
The price seems a bit high, but because this unit fits my needs, I use it all the time, so I'm comfortable that it was a good purchase. I have to deduct from the rating, not just because my clip broke, but because Sony should have given more realistic consideration to the design, for that price.

(More customer reviews)I had some old cheap Jensen bluetooth headphones that worked great (I am not a Jensen fan. Had issues with regular headphones from them.) Unfortunately my Jensens broke in a recent move so these looked like a good affordable substitute.
Initially they seemed to be a great solution. Unfortunately that was short lived. While listening to music they would suddenly begin to regularly beep without reason over the music. This was annoying and would happen more and more regularly. I would turn them off and start over. After days of this (yes I put up with it for days) I learned that if I pressed the on of button for a second or two that the beeping would go away with out a reboot. Still annoying but I could get by.
About 1 to 2 weeks later on a business trip, the headphones figured it was a good time to be problematic in a whole new way. (I talk about them as an entity because they seemed possessed.) Now when the beeping started, the volume would increase as if the increase button was stuck, even though I had never touched it because the initial volume was always fine for me. Again, pushing the on button seemed to stop the beeping and then I could lower the volume.
Not to be deterred the headphones went for the jugular. One morning the headphones beeped and the volume disappeared. No matter how many times it was recharged, paired, turned on and off, they never produced sound. That was the final straw. Since I was passing a Best Buy (who sells them), I had them look at it. They could not solve the issue. However, they did have the model up. The MotoROKR S9-HD for $99.00 (ouch). I still had 6 days on my trip. I figured I buy them and keep the receipt and return them if they act up.
They have worked perfectly for 2-3 weeks now and sound better the these S9s. Perhaps someone has had better luck with the S9 version, but I say spend the extra and get the S9-HD version. I had nothing but issues with my S9 purchase for the entire time that I have had them. They started to work again, but it is too late. I'm looking into getting my money back.

Sony DRBT22 Wireless Stereo Headset Review

Just bought these along with the TMR-BT8 iPod adapter. Pairing is very easy. While the headphones are off, hold down the power button for 7 seconds or when the pink and blue lights are blinking. The pairing code is 0000.
In addition to my 5th gen iPod, I also paired it with my Razr V3xx and Thinking T61p. No problems at all and the sound is as clear as with my wired headphones. These headphones do not have very much bass but it's much better than average in-the-ear types. The treble range is pretty good and better than average as well. Wireless range is very good, as long as there aren't too many obstacles. I was able to go at least 40 feet away with no cutting out at all. Simply amazing. Other features include controlling devices with the jog dial and volume buttons, which I was able to do with all 3 of my devices. I have not tried making or receiving a call from them yet but I don't perceive that I will have any problems. But with all the good, there's always a little bad. The control buttons do not feel firm and makes the whole thing seem fragile. In general I am careful with my electronics so this will not be a problem. I could see using these at the gym but I wouldn't drop them or place undue stress on them. This one is minor but the charger looks like it was designed to be compact but the prongs do not fold in and away. I could see traveling with these headphones on a business trip and being able to drop it in my laptop case would've been nice. And lastly, at this price, they should've included a case, preferably a hard plastic one.
Pros:
1. Easy pairing between devices
2. Very good wireless range
3. Intuitive controls
4. Battery life seems to be very good so far
5. Clear sound with no cutting out
6. Better than average sound quality
Cons:
1. Seems a little fragile
2. Prongs do not fold in on compact AC charger
3. No case included
UPDATE (8/11/08):
Now that I've had these headphones for 8 months, I found out that I can pair my phone and iPod simultaneously. I can be listening to the iPod and when a call comes in, the iPod pauses, and I can take the call. Once the call is over, the iPod resumes playing.
UPDATE (11/5/08):
These headphones work with my iPhone 3G but with caveats. First, you must use the Sony TMR-BT8 iPod adapter. You CANNOT just pair through the iPhone's built-in bluetooth AND you must not have it set to "on" before using the Sony adapter. It's probably best not to have bluetooth turned on at all. Second, you must have the adapter in and be in iPod mode before turning on headphones or they won't pair up. Third, you can get phone calls but they will not go through the headphones. And as with all previous iPhone accessories, you will be told that the adapter is an older accessory and may not work, do you want airplane mode. Just select "no" and don't worry about it. I think I covered all of the caveats. What is nice is that you can use the A2DP functions of the headphones like play/stop/FF/RW and volume, you will hear the phone ring in the headphones, and the music will resume once your call is over.
UPDATE (9/28/09):
iPhone ONLY. Now with the 3.0 firmware upgrade, there is no need for the Sony TMR-BT8 iPod adapter anymore. However, while you can play/stop music, you do not have prev/next or reverse/fast-forward functions. I recently upgraded to the iPhone 3GS and still no go on those functions. Hopefully this gets fixed in a future firmware upgrade.

(More customer reviews)The workmanship in this product is something you might see on an imitation of this product *costing 1/100th of the price*...unfortunately that's not the case. The sound quality is AM radio at best but during this low quality AM-ish sound you can also hear background 'Bluetooth' noise...a kind of whooshing sound (spread spectrum?). I used it with my ipod, my Nokia 9500 cell phone and my mac laptop and they all sounded the same through these headphones: horrible. The first day the headphone cushion fell off the right ear and will not stay on. Do not buy this product; you will be disappointed if you do.

(More customer reviews)I had to write a review between the Motorola S9 HD Bluetooth Headphones and Best Buy's Rocketfish Bluetooth Stereo Headphones because when I was trying to find reviews, I could not find any that compared the 2 products. I desperately wanted to buy a pair of bluetooth stereo headphones with a gift certificate I won at work. The motorola S9 HD sounds great, but the design is so flawed that I just had to return it. It sounds great (but not as good as Best Buy's signature Rocketfish Bluetooth Stereo Headphones, but I'll get into that later#, but the weight is so disproportionately heavy at the back, that it sags very badly towards the back and it sags so badly that it pulls the part of the headphones that go over the ear down so hard that it actually hurts after about 10 minutes. I really wanted these headphones to work, I really did, but it was such an unbearably flawed design that I had to return them.
Now... after returning this product, I bought Best Buy's Rocketfish Bluetooth Stereo Headphones because of all the positive ratings I read about it on this website and on Best Buy's website. These headphones are absolutely incredible! Let me just say that the fit is just right... they sag a little bit after about 30 minutes of use, but because the weight is distributed more evenly, they're not as uncomfortable. They actually sag less than the wired counterparts of this design made by Sony. This is the best product of this kind out there right now. NOW... about the sound... I thought they sounded JUST AS GOOD as the Motorola S9 HD headphones when I first used them! BUT, then I realized that they had an equilizer setting that the Motorola headphones do not. When I set the equilizer on my preferred setting, the sound quality blew the Motorolas away. Now, the only caveat is that these are over-the-ear headphones that may make one feel kinda dorky if you care about how you look at the gym# and because they are over-the-ear, those around you may be able to hear what you're listening to #again, if you care about that kinda stuff). In any case, they are lightweight enough to run with and the reception is so CLEAR AND GREAT! I can literally walk 30 feet away and these headphones are still crystal clear. Most bluetooth stereo headphones "claim" 30 feet of distance, but actually start to break up after about 10 feet. These headphones truly have range. Also, if you're the kind of person that wants to use these in the gym while lifting weights, they are perfect for that! You can simply leave your headphones on the floor nearby or in a cubby hole if the gym provides one, and continue to get crystal clear signal through your entire workout with NO WIRES!!! Again, they are comfortable and lightweight, and whether you are lifting weights or running, they're the best!

1. Works in a nearby room or directly above/below the room with the transmitter.
2. Able to hear outside sounds, if you don't want to be completely isolated from your surroundings.
3. Nice to be able to adjust the volume by touching the shell of the right earpad, which acts as a toggle switch.
4. Comes with a short cord in case the dongle won't fit in your unit's audio jack.
CONS:
1. Sound quality is muddy. If you like rock music, you will not hear much of the cymbals or other high notes. It is fine if you listen to spoken voice. The stock earbuds with the Nano 2G are a little better than the Logitech, but with less bass. My Sony MDR-V6 closed-ear cans sound *exceptionally* good with my 2nd Gen Nano. I'll give the Logitech headphones many additional hours to break in, but I had hoped they would sound much better out of the box.
2. Headband is not adjustable and sits close to your neck. Tilting your head back, even slightly, bumps the headband. Wearing a collared shirt also causes your shirt to contact the headband. The around-the-ear part of the headband takes most of the impact. The earpads will move a little. Some collar brushing comes through to the earpads. I think exercising would not go well.
3. Comfortable on the ears for less than an hour.
4. Little if any difference in bass boost and normal.
5. Comes with 6 iPod interfaces, but the Nano interface does not work with the 2nd Gen Nano. You can still plug the dongle into the headphone jack, but without the end cap for the dongle, there is a 2mm gap.
6. It's just more than twice the width of the Nano 2G. It is also slightly offset, left-to-right when looking at the Nano + dongle from the front.
7. I generally had to try to set the connection twice before it sync'd up. Then I needed to start the player right away, because if I waited 30 seconds, it shut itself off.
