When you plug in your iphone 2G, you get a warning saying that this is not an iphone compatible item and it will cause interference if you get a call while listening to your songs. Actual iphone items are insulated against this.
ALSO, i have not been able to successfully pair my iphone with this thing. it will show like it is paired, but will not actually put the call through if the iphone is docked.
I'm sure this would work if you DO NOT have an iphone and are trying to pair a regular phone and an ipod for the fm transmitter, but you CAN NOT use this as an FM Transmitter AND bluetooth for your iphone. it just is NOT happening.

(More customer reviews)I got this to go with my Dell DJ. Since I go between two cars for my commute, I wanted something that wasn't "nailed down". This seemed to fit the bill. And it does, but I find myself constantly adjusting the tuner to clean up the signal while driving. I start off and the signal is strong, but 10 miles down the road it starts to fade and needs tuning. I do live in the Baltimore Washington area, so there are a lot of radio stations chewing up the air waves. I think the battery power source limits this items broadcast strength. And when you are near a city, regular FM is going to overpower battery-powered FM everytime. Good item as long as you are in a rural area.

The product works, but only for about 5 minutes before it starts skipping parts of the song it happens to be playing. If it weren't for the skipping, this would be a decent product.
The other problem is that there is absolutely no support from the manufacturer. All of the emails I have sent regarding the skipping have gone unanswered.
Don't bother buying this product. Donate the money to charity instead. At least it will be used for a good cause that way.

The volume on the player has to be maxed out, and then the volume on the car receiver has to be at least 50% to hear it good. You cannot skip many tracks at a time (only 1 at a time), which is very annoying since I have at least 250 songs on the device. The remote has to be aimed at the transmitter to work. The player does resume where you left off. It's not perfect, but I haven't seen anything better out there.

But it does what it's supposed to do. As a clarification of an earlier post by another user, I note that the device does remember which mp3 file you were on the last time you started your car; it just doesn't remember where you were in that file, so it starts the file over again.

(More customer reviews)I got this FM transmitter after trying the iRoc for several weeks and being unsatisfied with it. First, the range of FM channels is much greater than the iRoc I had (which only gave four presetting channels.) This way you can tune incrementally to find the perfectly clear channel for best reception. While this is very nice, I live in Dallas where radio signals fill the dial and make reception poor to worse. On a long road trip I found that you had to constantly tune the thing as you passed in and out of towns due to radio interference. The best option is for hooking my MP3 player to any cheap radio at work or in various rooms at home so I can immediately have 10gigs of music from my iPod available. This way, in the home or office, you can find the perfect channel and interference doesn't change much so you can get things perfect. For the car, I may be too picky for a FM transmitter and might have to get a better stereo with a direct jack.

Scosche Digital FM Transmitter and USB Charger Review

(More customer reviews)I've been using this product for a month now. I gave it 4 stars because my gripes are relatively minor. For one, on a sunny day the LCD screen can be almost impossible to read. I've had occasions where I've had to physically cup around the LCD in order to guess at what station I'm on. My other problem is with the uncomfortable placement of the USB port on the device. The port is right on the side of the device so I have to put my usb cable in it before I put it in the cigarette lighter. The usb cable will be bent all over after use.
The device however really works as it should. A few design flaws don't change that. Make sure to find a station with very little signal out on it already and you'll get nice sound. Not CD quality or anything but I think it's been better than the Griffin ipod car dock I used to have (that I can play my Zune, my old Ipod Nano, and my cousin's sirius portable).
I've attached the usb cable to an old usb hub I had laying around so I can power multiple devices on the very rare occasions that I do. I recommend using an old hub either way so you have your usb slots available to you at any time. Even an extender will do well for you.
If the manufacturer made one with a nicer LCD screen and a more comfortably place USB slot, I think they'd have a winning product just on the versatility alone.

(More customer reviews)This is a great little FM transmitter. As with most devices like this, you have to play around with the frequencies to find the best one for your location and your car. I've been using it with a 4GB SD card because I am one of the few people left on the planet that do not own an iPod. Works great with the SD card, but the only drawback is that I can't figure out how to play the songs on random (as my iTunes, or I suppose and iPod, would do) - instead it's been making its way through the ~900 songs on the SD card alphabetically, which I guess is fine too.

DLO TuneStik FM Transmitter with Remote for iPod (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)Received this product about a week ago, purchased solely for the remote feature for my ipod video, mainly for my car, but also for ipod docks in my home. Since I have a dock/charger in my car, the FM transmitter was not neccessary, although a nice adddition. The remote works well, no complaints there, however, the manual states that the FM transmitter can be turned off by cycling through the four preset tuners until you reach the "off" menu. This does not exist, which I confirmed through DLO support. This is not a huge issue, but I do receive minimal static, which is not the case with my ipod mini using the Griffin remote. Sadly, Griffin no longer makes a remote for ipod video, classic and nano. Overall, if you're looking specifically for the remote function and not the FM transmitter, this product is very good, so I do recommend it. Would love to here feedback from other users.

(More customer reviews)Since my car does not have a cassette (or ipod/MP3 plug), a product such as this is the only way I can listen to the ipod on the go. I have tried similar products previously and was not pleased with the results (excessive static, cutting in and out). Regardless, and with skepticism, I decided to take a chance on the iLuv. Results follow.
PROS:
- KEY POINT: You MUST find the right frequency. Do not try to just guess, you will get poor results. Go to "radio-locator.com" to find the lowest-used frequency in your area. Once I did this the sound quality was great.
- I'm using mainly with a 2nd Gen Touch - perfect fit. Also works well with the new Nano.
- 2 presets on the module so you can have a backup frequency to use if needed (my primary frequency works well, but good to have a backup just in case)
- Charges the ipod well/fast
- Easy to adjust (tilt and swivel). This is key because you're limited to placing this wherever your outlet is located...in my case it's way too close to the stick.
CONS:
- A little sensitive to bumps in the road. I've had a few times where it cuts off if the road is a little rough. This seems to be more of an issue with the Touch vs. the Nano (since the Touch is more "top heavy" when seated in the iLuv).
- Would be great if it could "auto-find" the best frequency. If you're driving any distance this would be a big plus (once you're out of your home area, you'll likely have to search for new frequencies)
- A little light static between songs - although not noticable when the music is playing.
All in all, a very good product...works better than I expected, and the price was reasonable.
Notes: using this in a BMW330ci with manual transmission. Power outlet location not ideal as mentioned above - a little in the way of the climate control and power top controls, and when you shift into reverse - but you adapt! But this is an issue with the car, not the iLuv.
