(More customer reviews)I purchased the DLO TransDock Micro in order to be able to listen to my 60 GB Video Ipod as I drive around in my vehicle. After using this device for about a month now, I am extremely pleased with its performance. The audio coming through my vehicle's radio using this device with my Ipod is outstanding, with no hiss or other interferences. I prefer this device over other FM transmitters/chargers because it allows you to place your Ipod just about anywhere in your vehicle where it is convenient, due to the long cord on the device. The use of the cord on this device, as compared to other FM transmitters which require you to place your Ipod in/on the device, also allows me to keep the protective case on my Ipod at all times. The DLO TransDock Micro is a great addition to any compatible Ipod.

(More customer reviews)When I first hooked this up to my iPod, it worked as expected...the first time. I used it for about 20 minutes. The second time, about 10 minutes into using it the FM transmitter seemed to stop transmitting. I made sure it was completely in the 12V outlet and all the connections were secure, and it was on the right FM frequency. Even without the iPod attached, there should be silence on the frequency on which it's transmitting, but it was just static. The charging part of it still works fine. The FM transmitter works off and on for apparently no reason. Even when it is transmitting, the cord that goes to the headphone jack is very spotty - you have to turn it around in the jack just right or you only get sound to one side of the car or there's a lot of static. My headphones work just fine, so it's not the jack on the iPod. When it's actually transmitting and everything is adjusted just right, it sounds great. I'd return it, but for $9 it's not even worth paying the return shipping. So, if you're looking for a charger, it works fine. If you're looking for an FM transmitter, I'd look elsewhere.

(More customer reviews)DO NOT order from a company called CrazyonDigital. For one, they sent it in a thin plastic envelope, no padding, no box! I opened the envelope and found that the actual packaging of the item was smashed to heck and back! It looked like the shipper ran it over with their delivery truck. However, I would blame the packaging more than the shipper!!! Upon closer inspection, I found one of the support arms cracked! Not surprizing due to the way they shipped it!!!
It gets better, according to the description AND pictures, it was suppose to have an l.c.d. screen on top, allowing you to tune the unit to any station with in the normal full f.m. bandwith. The unit I received had NO l.c.d. screen but a switch with 4 pre-selected stations on the side of the unit. What the he*l?
I called CrazyonDigital and they tried to tell me that only 1st picture(the one with the unit in the box where you can't see it well) was their's and the rest were most likely added by someone else! Whaaaaaat?????? As John Mcenroe the tennis player would say, "you can't be serious?" I said, the same pictures are on the back of the box. Now, how can you sell an item where the pictures on the packaging don't match the item in the box??? I complained so long, they just said, "o.k., o.k. you don't have to send the old one back(their original response), we'll send you the one with the l.c.d. screen." Buyer beware!!!!!!!!!!
Sound quality seemed ok but the strength of the arms that hold your ipod in place worry me that they may loosen and let your ipod drop! Don't except too much and you won't be disappointed!

iLuv i730 Bluetooth Hands-Free Kit with FM Transmitter for iPod, iPhone 1G Review

(More customer reviews)This item is NOT made for the iphone, and it tells you that all on it's own. When you plug in your iphone 2G, you get a warning saying that this is not an iphone compatible item and it will cause interference if you get a call while listening to your songs. Actual iphone items are insulated against this.
ALSO, i have not been able to successfully pair my iphone with this thing. it will show like it is paired, but will not actually put the call through if the iphone is docked.
I'm sure this would work if you DO NOT have an iphone and are trying to pair a regular phone and an ipod for the fm transmitter, but you CAN NOT use this as an FM Transmitter AND bluetooth for your iphone. it just is NOT happening.

New Belkin TuneBase FM Transmitter Charger Dock w/ Hands-Free for Apple iPhone 3G / 3GS Review

(More customer reviews)I used this product with my iPod Touch 3G - 64GB and had less that pleasing results.
My iPod fit great, as did my friend's iPhone 3gs. The simplicity of plugging the devices in, and pushing it back to "lock in" works awesome. It is also very adjustable to fit pretty much any iPod made.
The first issue is with interference from the DC port. My car, like many, has a noisy ground loop. For this reason I use a ground loop isolator (GLI) to get rid of whines, whistles, and engine noise when I have a device plugged into the 12 volt port to charge. I was astounded that a device with an MSRP of $99.99 wouldn't have any sort of GLI built in. Not only that, but the device seemed way more susceptible to this noise than my cheap USB and iPod specific car chargers.
Another CON for this unit is that you need to plug in the Dock Connector AND an audio cable. I also have a cheaper, but much less elegant looking FM adapter/mount sold under various name brands including 'GTMax Permium' and it pulls the audio right out of the dock connector, so it is much less hassle to connect and disconnect the iPod. This cheaper unit also has a much stronger FM transmitter AND has a built in GLI to stop most of the engine noise I pick up with the Belkin unit.
I would not recommend this unit to friends or family. Only the fit and finish of the mount saves the Belkin TuneBase FM Transmitter from 1 star status.

Sound quality is poor and if you live in or near any city or town with more than 5 radio stations, be prepared to have to change the channel every 30 seconds.
Sides that hold the iPhone are cheaply made and don't even hold the phone well at all. You have to either squeeze the heck out of the sides or allow the phone to move around and if you hit the gas... there goes your phone!
Save your money and buy the real unit for the same price. I learned my lesson the hard way.

(More customer reviews)Everything about this product works great except for one important item. First the good things:
1. The transmitter is strong and crisp
2. Works with the iPhone 3g
3. The arm is great - moves around to wherever you wish. Very sturdy.
4. You only need to insert the jack for hands free calling (only need the charger to listen to music).
Overall & originally, I was overjoyed at how well this product worked.
Now, the bad:
1. It doesn't swivel so that you can put the iPhone in landscape/coverflow mode... Not a big deal though... But what IS a big deal:
2. The unit actually "beeps" about once a minute. Sometimes you can hear it really well (listening to talk radio), and sometimes not at all (but usually you will hear at least one beep every five minutes or so). I wrote the MediaGate Tech Support, and their reply was:
"The reason for it beeping every 30 seconds or so is in order for the FM transmitter and FM radio to stay active and not in idle mode, it requires the unit to beep. This is a normal feature but unfortunately there is no way of turning this off."
I'm not sure if I am going to return this yet; but I have a feeling it could go one of two ways... Either it drives me insane, or I just start not hearing it like a grandfather clock. I'll try it for another couple days and see how I feel...

(More customer reviews)I got this for my Ipod, When docking your Ipod in it with the connector, the connector will not fit between the support arms at the bottom of the unit, so The Ipod sits high in it. Not low like in the picture. I will modify the support arms and hopefully it will work out. The other thing I noticed is there is no manual for it other then a small pictured paper showing what to use with what. How do you set the 4 memory presets for FM tranmission? Oh well tune it in manualy and works with out any static like some others I have tried. Still a better deal the the $100+ ones at your local retail store.

(More customer reviews)Despite the great price of this product, I was quite disappointed when it broke within three uses. Two main problems...the iPod doesn't stay docked well and frequently falls out while going down the road. Secondly, the dongle that plugs into the bottom of the iPod came apart to where only the metal was exposed. This was a huge problem in that the small parts cannot be easily reassembled (if at all) and caused the dongle to get jammed into the iPod. Luckily, I was able to remove it and salvage my iPod from any permanent damage. There are two great points to this product, however. One being its clarity. When the proper channel was chosen, the songs came in rather clearly. The second is the remote. The remote worked great and was a nice addition. All in all, I would not recommend this product.

First impression when I got the package - had clearly been a returned product without any instructions, damaged packaging, and areas of writing blacked out with marker. Item clearly works to charge my ipod touch but only has 4 frequencies on the side to select and they are all extremely close together - it does NOT transmit on all frequencies as the ad claims. Cheap plastic but might hold up for light use. Will be returning this item.

1)Sleek design that matches exactly the style of my ipod touch
What I didn't like about it:
1)Slips out of the ipod rather easily because it lacks the little clips on the sides that some of these connectors have--very annoying.
2)The shaft of this connector that goes into the ipod wasn't long enough to connect properly after I put a rubber case protector on it. Not really the fault of this unit, but the reality is that most people will probably have a similar experience given that you buy this to use with your ipod in the car.
3)Not all channels are available, so if you find a clear channel on your car radio, it might not be available on this unit.
4)Does not scan automatically to find the next clear channel like some of the more expensive models do, so trying to get to a clear channel between this and your car stereo is at least as involved as texting while you drive. I don't recommend doing either. It's a royal pain when you're driving and you start getting interference.
To sum up, I decided to use an old cassette tape converter / connector instead. It makes a little noise due to the plastic gears spinning which is not ideal, but I usually only hear it between songs when no music is playing. (Maybe by now they've improved these and you can get one that doesn't have moving parts that make noise). That said, much better sound quality and not losing your signal and having to adjust your radio station and the station on the FM Transmitter while driving make it a much better option in my opinion.
